2017 – Madison Heights planted only 12 trees
2018 – Revived the Environmental Citizens Committee leading to an aggressive campaign to repopulate the Tree Canopy with 500+ trees planted in the next 5 years
2019 – Updated the Invasive Species ordinance to promote native and pollinator friendly plants
2020 – Madison Heights became a Tree City
2021 & 2022 – Attained Bronze level member of the MI Green Community
2023 – Attained SILVER level member of the Michigan Green Community
Reinstated the Special Investigations Unit
Created a hotel ordinance to reduce human trafficking and other crime at our hotels
Connected HAVEN, the courts and the police to create the High Risk Task Force as support for abuse victims
Participated in OAKWAY fire training
Increased Emergency personnel by over 20% since 2017
10% increase in private construction creating jobs and expanding our tax base
Found new grants and sponsors for over $100,000 in donations for programming and permanent installations
Collaborating with businesses to become more attractive to investors interested in helping us re-develop
